Technical Seminar on Building Safety and Maintenance

Jointly organized by CPDC, HKIE-CAD, HKIE-SSC, HKARMS, HKOSHA, HKIUS, GAA(HK), IMechE(HK), InstMC(HK), SOE(HK) & UTI, the seminar on “Building Safety and Maintenance”, will be held on 2 March, 2010 at 6:30pm to 8:00pm in CPDC, Rm 209, 2/F, Favor Industrial Centre, 2-6 Kin Hong Street, Kwai Chung, N.T. (6:00 for Registration)

The Speaker

Ir Prof. John K.W. CHAN, AP, RSE/RGE, FHKIE, FIStrE, has over 40 years engineering experiences with keen expertise on building safety and as Authorized Person registered with the Buildings Authority. He has been Chairman of Building Division as well as Materials Division of HKIE.

Programme highlights:

With the sudden collapse of a building at Ma Tau Wai Road in To Kwa Wan recently, the concern of Building Safety and Maintenance has been a spot-light topic in the society. In view of providing more details on building safety and the relevant maintenance inspection and potential maintenance works to be carried out; HKIE – SSC (The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers – Safety Specialist Committee) together with CPDC (Construction Professionals' Development Centre) will jointly organize this technical talk.
